The ghats and rivers of Pune
In 2007, eCoexist team conducted a study of the ghats and rivers in Pune with a view to assess the situation on the ground at each immersion point. A map of the river was created along with photos of the state of immersion tanks at each ghat. A report of what we observed was submitted to the Pune Municipal Corporation with reccomendations to improve facilities at each spot.
Based on this initial study, the eCoexist and Swach teams have been collecting and recycling nirmalya every year - starting from 2 ghats to 14 ghats in 2010. Please see the list of ghats we will be covering in 2011 below.
